No doubt you are a wonderful teacher, but we all recognize that, often, a workshop from a visiting professional can galvanise and renew your students’ rehearsal techniques and ensure that their groups, have reached the very highest standards they can achieve as they move into their exam performance.

I have been, as you can see under ‘About’ on the drop-down menu, working at the very top end of directing and drama teaching and my directorial repertoire is truly extensive. I have worked on almost every genre and am fully conversant with a wide range of styles and playwrights, and my directorial style and originality is well known. Additionally, I can offer extremely dynamic voice-workshops for your casts.

REVIVIFY YOUR SET-TEXTS!

Revision sessions can drag for your and your students when you’ve already put a great deal into teaching the text the first time round! I can take your students through their paces, helping them in their final exam preparations by dusting down their existing knowledge using some compelling practical techniques.

Revision sessions for set-texts might include:

  • Re-visiting the playwright and his era/culture.
  • The genre and key themes re-explored. Re-visit problem and/or exemplar scenes chosen by you and/or your students to explore in a practical workshop.
  • Revisit characters, key moments, peaks and troughs, key emotions, clashes and interactions, group to share reading key speeches/duologues, etc.
  • Off-text experiments to explore characters, sub-text etc, exercises based on an appropriate practitioner according to their relevance to the chosen text.
  • Work on characterization, physicality, accents and voice, and performance potential in general.
